Overview
The Dashboard is the first page you see after signing in to Organism. It provides a real-time snapshot of your system's health and gives you one-tap access to all your installed applications.

The Dashboard is divided into three main sections:
- System Stats Bar — live hardware metrics across the top
- Application Springboard — your installed apps in a grid layout
- Quick Actions — shortcuts to common tasks
System Stats Bar
The stats bar at the top of the Dashboard displays four real-time metrics:
| Metric | Description |
|---|---|
| Containers | Number of running containers vs total containers (e.g. 3/4) |
| CPU | Current CPU utilisation as a percentage |
| Memory | Used memory vs total available (e.g. 6.7 GB / 16.0 GB) |
| Disk | Used disk space vs total (e.g. 11.4 GB / 228.3 GB) |
These metrics refresh automatically every 15 seconds. Click on any metric to jump to the Monitoring page for detailed charts and history.
Application Springboard
The Springboard is a grid of all your installed applications, inspired by mobile home screens. Each app is represented by an icon tile showing:
- App icon — unique icon for each application
- App name — displayed below the icon
- Status indicator — a coloured dot showing the app's current state:
- 🟢 Green — running and healthy
- 🟡 Yellow — starting up or warning
- 🔴 Red — stopped or error
- Update badge — a red notification badge appears when an update is available
Launching an App
Click any app icon to open its management page, where you can view container details, access the app's web interface, or perform actions like restart and stop.
Browse the Store
At the bottom of the Springboard, a Browse the Store for more apps → link takes you to the App Store to discover and install new applications.
Edit Mode
Edit Mode lets you rearrange your app icons on the Springboard, just like rearranging apps on a phone home screen.
Entering Edit Mode
There are two ways to enter Edit Mode:
- Long-press — press and hold any app icon for about half a second
- Edit button — click the Edit button (pencil icon) above the app grid
When Edit Mode is active:
- App icons start jiggling to indicate they can be moved
- A small × badge appears on each icon for quick access to uninstall
- The Edit button changes to Done
Rearranging Apps
While in Edit Mode, drag and drop app icons to rearrange them. Your custom order is saved automatically and persists across sessions.
Exiting Edit Mode
- Click the Done button
- Press the Escape key on your keyboard
- Click anywhere outside the app grid
